How does a wedding day look like? The answer is simple; it can look whatever you want it to look.
Yet, according to our experiences with organizing weddings in Croatia, there is a certain pattern. Let us guide you through Weddings in Croatia’s typical wedding day.
{11 AM – 2 PM} DRESSING
You want to look perfect on your wedding day, right? This is the time for serious make-over. You’ll feel like princess – surrounded with make-up artist and hair stylist, but these moments are precious because it’s finally time to put on your wedding dress. Make sure you have plenty of time on hand and include your bridesmaids and female family members in this ritual.
{2 PM} GETTING READY PHOTOS
Camera, roll, action. Most couples want to have photos while they’re preparing for their special day. If you decide to see your groom before the ceremony, you will probably want to make a record of the moment you first see each other as well as your preparation for that special day.
{5 PM} CEREMONY
Ceremony is the most beautiful and the most touching part of the wedding day. Whether it’s civil or religious, wedding ceremony is the central part of the event. This is what you’ve been waiting for – enjoy every minute of it.
{6 PM} PHOTO SHOOTING
After the ceremony, the couple go on a photo shooting. Wedding planners usually calculate when’s the sunset on your wedding day and arrange photo shooting according to that. Remember to be relaxed and just have fun.
{7:30 PM} WELCOME DRINK AND SNACKS
While you’re posing for eternity, the guests are heading towards reception location in search of refreshment. By organizing welcome drink and snacks for your guests while you’re on photo shooting, you’re giving them the opportunity to catch up with family and friends they haven’t seen for a long time.
{8:15 PM} GRAND ENTRANCE ACCOMPANIED BY A CHAMPAGNE TOAST
The official part of your wedding is over and it’s time to eat, drink and have a lot of fun. It all begins with your grand entrance to the reception venue. Today is all about you, so don’t be shy and nervous – be yourself. The grand entrance is usually accompanied by a champagne toast to newlyweds. Cheers!
{8:40 PM} FIRST DANCE
Now’s the time to pay off your dance lessons. You can stage an once-in-a-lifetime performance for your guests if you feel like it, but the dance with your soul mate to your favorite song is equally appealing.
{9 PM} DINNER
After this emotional and exciting day, excellent food is what most of the attendees are waiting for. Carefully selected menu accompanied by a glass of fine wine is a guarantee of successful wedding banquet.
{11:30 PM} SPEECH AND TOAST
Whether you plan it or not, somebody is going to have a speech at one point during the evening. It can be your parents, best man, maid of honor or high school friend as long as it’s accompanied with a toast to your new life together.
{MIDNIGHT} CAKE PRESENTATION, CUTTING THE CAKE FOLLOWED BY FIREWORKS
Cake presentation is yet another tradition and the highlight of the reception. The newlyweds sharing the first slice of gorgeously designed cake is definitely something every couple should have in their wedding album. You can spice things up with stunning fireworks.
{1:00 AM} BOUQUET / GARTHER TOSS
Although there are numerous ways to entertain your guests, bouquet/garther toss is a fun wedding tradition most couples decide to include in their wedding program. If you don’t want single ladies to feel awkward because they’re still single, include all the guests who are willing to participate.
