Wedding guests ettiquete

The wedding season is ON! If you are invited to a wedding, don`t think it`s enough just to show up in your fancy dress and have a great time. Follow this simple rules and be the perfect guest that any couple hopes for at their wedding.

RSVP ON TIME

When you receive the wedding invitation, make sure to check the rsvp date in your calendar. Make sure to let know the couple your decision as soon as possible.

DON`T ASSUME YOU CAN BRING A PLUS ONE

If your invitation doesn`t specifically say „with guest“, make sure to check before you arrange a plus one.

DON`T BE LATE

Although weddings tend to be late, make sure you arrive at least 20min before the ceremony starts.

TURNO OFF YOUR CELL PHONE

I guess you don`t want your ringtone to interrupt the vow exchange in front of the altar.

ASK ABOUT A DRESS CODE

In order to be as prepared as one can be, check with the couple if they have any guidance about clothes and/or footwear, especially if the wedding takes place on a venue you are not familiar with or outdoors. I`m sure there`s no need to point out you shouldn`t wear white.

MIND THE PHOTOGRAPHER`S SPACE

Make sure not to be on photographer`s way especially during important moments, such as rings exchange, first dance or cate cutting. Keep in mind those memories are to last forever in their wedding album.

DON`T SIT IN FIRST ROW

During the ceremony, first rows are always booked for family members. Unless you are close friend, wait for others to take their seats and then find a spot for you.

HOLD YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS

Since we live in online world where smartphones, selfies and Facebook become integral part of our lives, it is hard to refrain from posting exciting moments online. Still, as a wedding guest, you should leave to the happy couple to announce they are married. That doesn`t mean you can`t post a selfie with the bridal bouquet you`ve catch J

RESPECT THE SEATING CHART

One of the most exhausting things when planning a wedding is to decide who sits where. For sure you won`t always be happy with the company you`re sharing table with, but try not to complicate about it. Be sure that the couple has thought of various combinations and concluded you must have something in common with other guests sitting at that table. If the situation gets really bad, you can always spend the entire night on the dance floor!
